All Zipline tours start with an awesome "6x6 Guided Off-Road Safari Tour" This is not just a quiet ride in the park you better hang on tight as you travel through the mountainous rainforest and the lush plantation located at the Great River Adventure Center. The vehicles used are called 6x6 Pinzgauers they go over and through anything. The zipline adventure has the longest combined lengths of ziplines in the Caribbean and the last zipline known as "Big Timba" is the longest single zip in the Caribbean 1,600 feet. You warm up and build your confidence on zip #1 which is 250' long, low to the ground, and is a very gentle ride. Then you step it up as we get longer, higher and faster. The rides are exhilarating not scary. It's like flying gracefully and under control above and through the tree canopy. Great River Adventures pride themselves on the safety of the ziplines and the safety orientation of the guides. When zipping you are attached to 2 Steel Cables. Each can handle 23,000 lbs. (Length of the ziplines - 250', 750', 850', 900', 1,600') Enhancing this canopy tour is a 250' Jungle Walking Bridge - Indiana Jones style but much stronger. All guests are attached to a safety cable while traveling across on the bridge. Halfway through the tour experience another true Jamaican experience. The Flavours of Jamaica - You are given the opportunity to sample a variety of fresh fruits grown at the plantation. All Just picked for you. (Coconut water, Sugar Cane, Pineapple, and what ever else is in season at the time)
Important Requirements Minimum age requirement - 10 years old. You must be 18 to sign the waiver form or have a parent or guardian do it for you. Minimum and maximum weight limits: 60 lb to 265 lb Physical condition - There is a little walking between zips, but on well maintained trails and nothing more then 3 minutes long. Long hair should be back in a pony tail and any dangling jewelry should be removed. Be sure to eat about two hours before the tour so as to not get hungry along the way. Remove all sharp objects from your pockets. (Keys, pens, and pocket knives) Also do not wear a belt with a big belt buckle; it could bother you while zipping. If you wear glasses you may want a strap to keep them from zipping away. Cameras - A protective case is the way to go with a secure strap. Clothing - Outdoor hiking style clothes are what you are looking for. A lightweight rain coat is often a good call. Shorts vs. Pants - We recommend pants or long shorts. Shorts are fine but be sure not to wear short shorts. You will be wearing a harness and you do not want it rubbing on your thighs while having your body weight on it. Shoes - Sneakers, Hiking boats, shoes are all OK / Anything with open toes is not allowed. NO FLIP FLOPS Back packs are NOT allowed on the tour. No pregnant women. No one with a neck and back injuries or broken bones are allowed. No one with a heart condition is allowed.
